(1) Scope of use of commonly used fire extinguishers

1. CO2 and 1211 fire extinguishers are suitable for extinguishing fires of solids, liquids, gases and live equipment. They are mainly used to extinguish fires of valuable instruments and equipment, archives and other materials.

2. "ABC" type dry powder fire extinguisher is suitable for fighting fires of solids, liquids, gases and live equipment.

3. "BC" type dry powder fire extinguisher is suitable for extinguishing liquid and gas fires.

4. Foam fire extinguishers are suitable for extinguishing combustible solid and liquid fires.

(2) How to operate common fire extinguishers

1. How to operate "1211" and "CO2" fire extinguishers

(1) For a portable fire extinguisher, remove the seal, pull out the safety pin, and stand at an effective distance upwind from the fire point.

(2) Hold the hose, aim the nozzle at the base of the flame, press to spray the fire extinguishing agent, and swing the nozzle appropriately.

(3) If there are multiple open flames, move the fire extinguishers to a new location until the flames are completely extinguished and no open flames remain to prevent them from reigniting.

(4) After extinguishing the fire, lift the handle of the fire extinguisher to stop spraying.

(5) Be careful not to hold the cylinder with your hands when using a CO2 fire extinguisher to avoid frostbite.

2. How to operate a dry powder fire extinguisher

(1) Remove the lead seal, pull out the safety pin, and stand at an effective distance upwind from the fire point.

(2) Hold the hose, aim the nozzle at the base of the flame, press to spray the dry powder, and swing the nozzle appropriately so that the spray sweeps across the entire base of the flame and gradually moves upward.
